Spring is the perfect time to visit Tulip Gardens near Amsterdam

Every year Keukenhof Gardens opens their doors to visit 32 hectares of flowers with over 7 million bulbs!

What is the best time to visit Keukenhof Gardens?

First, you should be aware that Keukenhof Gardens are opened only two months a year when the tulips are in bloom.

 

This year 2019 Keukenhof Gardens are opened from 21 March till 19 May 2019.

During this period, it’s hard to say what is the best time to visit tulip gardens, however, based on the last years, the best time is the last 2 weeks of April and the first week of May. Again, it really depends on the weather which is very variable in Holland so just make sure you come during the two months period when is it most suitable for you.

How to get there?

By car

Keukenhof is located near Amsterdam city and is easily accessible via motorways A4 (exit Nieuw-Vennep) and A44 (exit 3, Lisse). Just follow the signs ‘Keukenhof’. There is a large parking slot available at the entrance for the price of 6 EUR/per day.

If you don’t have your own car, you can always rent a car through Auto Europe as they offer a great comparison of deals so you can easily choose the best price for your rent.

By Public Transport

If you don’t have a car, you can easily travel from Amsterdam to Keukenhof by Express Bus. This option is quite popular as you can save money by buying a special combi ticket. The Combi ticket is convenient and we totally recommend it as it includes both your return bus fares and entrance to Keukenhof. You can also avoid all the lines at Keukenhof entrance.

With Keukenhof bus, you can easily travel to the tulip gardens from cities like Amsterdam, Haarlem, Leiden and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

What to see?

Besides the spacious 32 hectares of flowers with 800 varieties of tulips, you can enjoy spectacular flower shows, inspirational gardens, and specific flower events.

Every year the park is dedicated to a specific Theme. The theme for 2019 is Flower Power. This theme was chosen for celebrating 70th Keukenhof.

You should not miss the Tulip Mania Exhibition at the Juliana Pavilion. You can see how the tulips are cultivated and get advice from experts about the correct use of flower bulbs at your garden.

The park is open from the 21st of March 2019 till the 19th of May 2019.

We recommend going during the week on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday as weekends are more crowded.

En este inmenso parque puedes ver un total de 800 variedades de tulipanes, definitivamente es una experiencia única y sorprendente.

Keukenhof Tulip Gardens se encuentra cerca de Ámsterdam y es recomendable hacerle visita en un viaje de un día durante la primavera.

¿Cuál es la mejor época para visitar los jardines de Keukenhof?

En primer lugar debes tener en cuenta que los jardines Keukenhof abren solo dos meses al año exactamente cuando los tulipanes florecen y se presentan en su máximo esplendor.

Este año 2019 Keukenhof Gardens está abierto desde el 21 de marzo hasta el 19 de mayo de 2019.

Durante este breve período, es difícil precisar cuál es el mejor momento para visitar los jardines de tulipanes. Sin embargo, según los últimos años, la mejor época son las últimas 2 semanas de Abril y la primera semana de mayo.

Una vez más, realmente depende del clima, que es muy variable en Holanda, así que si esta en tu programa visitar el parque asegúrate aunque sean un par de días durante estos dos meses cuando sea más adecuado para ti.

¿Cómo llegar allá?

En coche

Keukenhof se encuentra cerca de Amsterdam y es fácilmente accesible por las autopistas A4 (salida Nieuw-Vennep) y A44 (salida 3, Lisse). Sólo tienes que seguir las indicaciones ‘Keukenhof’. Hay una gran plaza de aparcamiento disponible justo en la entrada por el precio de 6 EUR / por día.

Este tema fue elegido para celebrar el 70 aňos de Keukenhof.

No debes absolutamente perderte la exposición Tulip Mania en el pabellón Juliana.

Puedes ver cómo se cultivan los tulipanes y obtener consejos de expertos sobre el uso correcto de los bulbos de flores en su jardín.

Recomendamos ir durante la semana tipo los lunes, martes o miércoles, ya que los fines de semana el parque suele estar más lleno.

Con el ticket de entrada puedes quedarte en el parque todo el día. Hay varios sitios de restauración y si te apetece puedes organizarte y hacer hasta picnic.
